Our first meeting of the year was a great success! We appreciate so many people supporting the chapter and attending. We had over 50 people attend the meeting, where John Deere’s Teri Dankert highlighted the many business challenges Deere faces as it works toward an eventual implementation of IFRS reporting standards.

Meeting attendees also had the privilege of learning the challenges of today’s environment for finance professionals with an outstanding panel. Jim Davlin (Deere & Company), Amy Ford (Western Illinois University), Aaron Kayser (Crippen, Reid, & Bowen), and Susan Stoefen (Cobham) shared stories of success and challenges and provided everyone with great real-world experiences.

Our next meeting is Tuesday, November 15 from 5:30-7:30 PM at St. Ambrose University in Davenport. Michelle Steining from Doyle & Keenan in Davenport will present our annual tax update, and Sitrick & Associates business development director Maxine Brand will present a great introduction to LinkedIn. We hope to see you there!

Follow our meeting tonight by Twitter!

by Illowa on September 20, 2011

The first Illowa chapter meeting is tonight from 5:30-7:30 PM in the Employee Development Room of Deere & Company’s World Headquarters. We have over 60 people signed up to learn how Deere faces the challenge of IFRS and to hear local finance leaders talk about the key skills we must develop to become leaders in our companies.

If you cannot make the meeting, we have a way to keep you informed of the meeting in real time. Follow the Illowa Chapter’s Twitter account at @illowaima and receive live updates during the meeting. We will highlight key notes and comments from the meeting as they occur so you can take the key points away from the meeting. This is another way our chapter will keep you posted on the latest developments with our new meeting schedule.
